Commissioned by two young entrepreneurs, Edward Chia & Danny Loong, the House of Timbre was a synergistic and holistic concept at The Arts House whereby 3 spatial concepts co-exist and combine to create a truly unique house of music, arts, food and beverage and an exquisite dining and entertainment enclave within Empress Place. Each concept is unique and contributes to the complete Timbre experience.

Taking advantage of the old colonial building, opportunities are created through the re-interpretation of the spaces in the building. The colonial design of the house forms a strong dichotomy with the contemporary interior inside. The spaces that were planned reflect the modernity of its usage; as a place for people to gather, unwind and have a good time. The outdoor café forms as an extended function of the building with a geometrically formed roof enhancing the dialogue of old and the new.
