Suntec Cineplex

This cineplex was redesigned in 2010 and completed in April 2011.The project was commissioned by the Eng Wah Group (founded in 1940s), a local leading film exhibitor and distributor with 26 strategically located cinema screen halls with capacity of over 5,300 seats. As part of their latest branding initiative in creating a much needed new identity for its cinemas operation in Singapore, the formerly known Eng Wah Cinemas was successfully launched with the energetic “WE Cinemas” brand at Suntec City this April.

An interior project, the Suntec Cineplex encompassed different play in the use of interior facades. Against the sleekness of these strips of façade, the ceiling was designed with the incorporation of lights that reflect the subtle vibrancies of the Cineplex; capturing the intended dynamism and “movement” of movie-goers. Complimenting the lightings is the fabric that was used on the floor design; they provide softness to the interior and create a welcoming and homely atmosphere to the Cineplex.
