Bungalow @ 108 Pasir Ris Road
Located along the beach on the eastern part of Singapore, the house was set in front of a quiet tree-lined park. The design of the house is inspired by the traditional courtyard house with the main living spaces look out into landscape courtyards.
The natural environment was fully appreciated in this house as it was designed to allow elements of nature to compliment the exterior and interior of it. The house was designed by creating various spaces to meet the needs of a multi-tier family that could accommodate the growth of trees and other components of landscaping. The main approach from the outside into the sanctuary of the home involves layers of transitional courtyard space. The master bedroom suite is set amidst a heavily planted rooftop, overlooking the crown of the trees in the park.
The entrance for example fully utilizes the double volume height, creating interesting views of the surrounding environment. The spaces are defined by the landscape that gave each of them a unique character.
