Funeral homes are traditionally housed within structures that either perpetuate their morbid reputation or attempt to mask their purpose altogether. They are dark, heavy looking and office-like buildings with outdated designs, often trying to hide and apologise for what their existence stands for.
Our design aims to rethink the way one says goodbye to their loved ones by providing a holistic centre for bereavement, remembrance, healing and education. In addition to the main provision of halls and the embalming facilities, other new facilities include retails, exhibition, childcare, thanatology consultation, business centre and refreshments.
