In his 20 years of practice, Cheng Kooi has completed residential projects of various designs - from one of a modest budget to the absolutely luxurious. Each project is uniquely designed with distinctive features evolving from the characteristics of the site. Spaces are often crafted in accordance with the infusion of natural light and ventilation of the surrounding area into the house. Internal spaces are aligned along vistas of lush green and water features. This exploration is apparent in the design of his own house at Fulton Road, where he transformed a typically dark centre of the house with hardly any view - the common feature of a terrace house.
